Help your dog digging the dog days!
Sunday, April 6, 2008 | | |Summer is the ideal time to bond with your dog. Here are a few things to keep in mind when thinking of activities for you and your dog.
Swimming - Hot weather is a great excuse to jump in the pool or enjoy the cool waters of a nearby lake. Instead of a march, take your dog for a swim! It is a fun way for your dog to exercise and cool off. Another liaison experience: let your dog take you on a tour. If your dog is large enough and physically for the task, hold and let yourself be taken around the pool. Always be alert to your dog security during your trip!
Digging - In nature, dogs dig dens to find food, leather, give birth ... and keep cool! I always say, are not directed against Mother Nature. If possible, find a shaded area where you can leave your dog doing what is naturally - digging!
Walking - Summer is the ideal time to take your dog for a walk, but it is important to keep in mind how the heat can affect him. Wherever possible, exercise your dog during the cooler of the day: early morning or evening. Vigorous exercise is important for dogs, but the summer heat May to normal routine more intense. Consider reduction, and be alert to signs of dehydration.
